Set off on a stroll in the open countryside, in one of the many walks possible through the Pays de l'Ourcq region. It is located to the north-east of Paris, and its canal runs all the way to the capital. Enjoy a wide range of flora and fauna, including the Grand Voyeux Nature Reserve.
Bird lovers are sure to appreciate a hike through Congis-sur-Therouanne, home to many protected species. On the 12.5 km walk through the L'Orxois woods, you might see the yellow-bellied toad as well as two species of bats. Enjoy a magnificent panoramic view over the Marne valley, in a 12 km loop across the Brie prairie.
Follow a 10 km loop between fields to see orchards and groves along the banks of the Marne at Isles-les-Meldeuses. Take the 13 km path from Lizy-sur-Ourcq to discover a picturesque and charming environment. Steep yourself in history among the farms and villages of Etrepilly: one path goes through the battle sites where the French and German armies fought during the Battle of Ourcq River.
