A little history

Extending across 108 acres with three bodies of water (Lake Enghien, North Lake, and Lake Mathilde), the Enghien-les-Bains lake covers one-third of the surface area of this town in Val-d'Oise, located a dozen kilometres to the north of Paris. Starting in the 19th century, the town and lake (along with the casino!) become very popular among walkers who wanted to find some nature and take advantage of the nautical activities. Lake Enghien, which is also a spa resort, is particularly known for the Henri Patenôtre-Desnoyers esplanade, designed in an Art Nouveau style, and which has become a symbol of the town. It provides a magnificent view over the lake and the theatre, rose garden, and casino.

Visitors to the Enghien-les-Bains lake can also admire the splendid villas around it. For those on a Sunday stroll, it is first and foremost a leisure area where people can sail or row, paddle out on a pedalo or a canoe, fish, and more. People can also walk around the lake. All of this is just 30 minutes from Paris! Furthermore, Lake Enghien is home to multiple events throughout the year, with tall ships, fireworks, and more.
